I imagine fatboy has overclocked a 480 and sat it in the OcUK café, so they can cook him breakfast tomorrow morning. :D

Also, Just went to the nvidia site, and looked for drivers, new 197 bets out, but on the selection screen (for gpu series etc) it has Geforce 300 series. I thought it was supposed to be 400 series, and it wasnt like this the other day, as 200 series was the default, and the top option?

edit: are the series just the "low end" while the 4 series is the high end?

The 300 series are just renamed low-end 200 series cards. OEM only, though.

The 300 series is not only renamed low end 200 series, its also got a couple renamed G92 9800gt based cards in it, yup, just for insanitys sake. I think its the GT330 and the GTS 360 and maybe 350, both for laptop the last two.

Why the GT320/340 are one core, and the gt330 is another I couldn't tell you, its nuts.

Its worth pointing out, the latest rumour for the Dirt 2 performance is that Nvidia were running DX9 while comparing to the 5870 in DX11.

I REALLY wouldn't jump in on one till you see some independant reviews from decent sites(and hope they haven't caved in), of course wait too long and you might not get anything.

Its so tempting to order a few 480gtx's, then sell them on ebay when supply runs out in a couple months to people who just won't buy AMD cards.

Im glad all this will be over soon. I can finally get a card for my new build after nearly 4 months of waiting. If what we have heard and seen regarding benchmarks, price and temps is true then I think I will be getting a 5870 after all.
