Always nice to see another build, personally i'd have used a more traditional cab.

Will be posting both my builds soon so its going to be nice to see what direction yours takes.

What do you mean by traditional? I needed a cab that supported 31k for the 360, was not made out of wood, could easily fit a 2 player control panel and had a good supply of parts.

The 29" screen is a bonus :P

Would have custom built something in the shape of a normal street fighter style wood cab and made it work for what i needed, i think the 18 wheeler cabs look good with all the bits attached but i can't invisage it as a machine for use with joysticks.

It's a Naomi universal cab. It is designed to have interchangeable parts and fighting games were by far the most common variant of it. There are light gun versions (like virtua cop 3) of it too.

I bought a knackered 18 wheeler cab to convert as I didn't want to ruin a working cab, my mate with fighting game parts wanted racing parts, it's designed to be interchangeable, I'm technically adept at modifying things like this and it cost a lot less than a fighting game cab :p

It's not going to change much, other than minor repairs, adding the missing small clips and covers etc, a complete respray and upgrading the speakers and adding extra buttons.

Think my pinball machine has run me for 1k atm and thats without buying the pc, total cost set to be around 1.5 - 2k to finish it fully.

Mameroom cab hasn't cost that much at the moment around £200 because i didn't need to buy a pc, however once i change my x-arcade stuff out total cost is set to be around the 800 - 1k mark.

Kreeeee who do you use for arcade parts? I'm currently shopping with Gremlin solutions but i find them expensive once you add shipping.

Amongst other things i'm after an LED-Wiz or Pac-Drive plus some clear buttons and RGB led's to go behind, groovygamegear have them but it means importing.

Do you only plan to run a 360, or will you consider a PC with MAME?

I only play fighting games, and since HDR, 3S, SSFIV, MvC3, BBCS etc are all on the 360, plus fun stuff liek XMen, TMNT and Pacman DX I don;t have the need for MAME really.

May connect a dreamcast up to it too though, and an ST arcade board.

I get my arcade parts from giz10p, sega-naomi and arcadeotaku. Unless you mean just the buttons etc, in which case Gahrling from neoempire or arcadeshop.de.
