If I lose to you I'll be gutted since I am well in-practice atm, so have no excuse at all.

Anyway, be afraid, be VERY AFRAID..........

Nice set!

Adz - You have improved greatly. AA dp's are getting there and your FADC execution is very good. Wish I could FADC as well as you :/

Zoning - Work on your spacing and throw more fireballs from safe ranges. Find the range where if they jump over a fireball you can dp on reaction.

Footsies - now you have improved other areas of your game, try incorporating more footsues in your play. Use more cr.mk and less sweep as you are throwing out sweep way too much and its horribly punishable.

Strings/pressure - Vary up your block/pressure strings. Look into incorporating frame traps into your offense.

Art - Practise!

i had some practice against distorted earlier. when i wasnt missing stuff (like ultra after grab) i beat him, especially in the first a few games, the only time i had eye of a tiger.

he would probably tell you dont get worked into the corner or its over quicky.

so prepare to be surprised.

Yeh corner = death vs Makoto. Ryu has like zero escape options now in AE which makes it very difficult.

Why does Adz get several paragraphs of tips, while I get 1 word? :(
How does Ryu punish Ryu's cr.HK? cr.HK? It feels so unsafe, I haven't tried using it to punish after blocking the same move.

i think you can do it with super. i am guessing it is easy to whiff punish as well. i think you should have played other characters though

Depends on the range it's done at, as you can see here it's -14 on block!!!

http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Super_Street_Fighter_IV_AE/Ryu

So it's whatever has enough range with 14 frames or less start up, such as sweep, ex tatsu, Super, Ultra, DP, cmk to DERP... it is SUCH an unsafe move but so many muppets online don't punish it so Ryu's get into bad habits.

Edit: DeeJay's upkicks are 6 frames... so easy to safe jump :(

Easiest things to do to whiff punish Ryu's sweep is to sweep yourself or slightly step forward cr.mk xx whatever. Block punish in the heat of battle most likely options are dp, super, sweep etc.

What other tips do you want? you are probably more knowledgable than me.

Cheers mate. FADC took me over a year to nail, I am a VERY slow learner at this game as Art will tell you, but overall I have steadily been improving.

Zoning - I am hesitant to throw many fireballs because of that very reason, I feel they will jump it and get an easy punish. I need to force myself to keep using mp.dp as AA and eventually I think I will be more confident throwing more fireballs. One thing you may notice, I was trying to stay just outside of his sweep/footsie range when he threw it and then do walk up throws which worked many times in that set.

Footsies - No excuses, I need to use that way more.

My biggest weapon now is jab! Before I would jab jab jab until they were out of range which is a waste, but now I almost always follow the jab jab through with hp.dp and even fadc > ultra if it is on. I can now finish off rounds where I previously would have thrown away. In training mode I have tried what you do which is cr.lk cr.lp cr.hp hurricane (followed by dp if in corner) and my timing for that is not spot on so I find it too risky in games, I'm sticking to what I know lol.

your lp into dp's are very nice especially if you have meter to cancel into ultra. if you dont have/dont want to use ultra i feel cancelling into tatsu is superior as your push your opponent much closer to the corner and stay close to them for more pressure.

I don't know about that, since you are the Ryu specialist.
Does Ryu have any effective option selects against wakeup dp?
And what do you think is his best option against ambiguous crossups on wakeup?

About the cr.HKs, I should add that they are near max range. Otherwise, yes, anybody can punish that. Give me a little credit please, lol. If i was in range to be able to punish cr.HK with a dp, yet still asked that question, I'd be the worst player here!

It's only safe at its maximum range except for a Super punish, but at that range you should move back a pixel to make it whiff.

jhp OS DP against wakeup DP.

Are you on about his jhp/jmk ambiguous crossup on wakeup? Very late DP beats it every single time cleanly.

Pretty much what kreee said. lp dp trade can go into ultra.
