.

Prague sounds like a good idea, as does Paris. I was looking there. What about UK? Never been to Edinburgh for a weekend or York.

Thoughts on Amsterdam? Paris or Amsterdam would be a doddle with the Eurostar.

I enjoyed Cardiff for a weekend away, something to consider.

Do you have a budget?

Stayed in paris for 3 nights @ £80 a night, was a very nice hotel.

Not really, would be staying Friday and Saturday night, coming back Sunday. £6/700 maybe?

That covering everything? Travel, hotel, food and drink, and attractions?

I'm flexible on it I guess. I haven't been to York since a kid, so somewhere I'd like to check out.

Paris is looking around £300 in travel so would have to up budget as it's two nights, nice restaurants etc.

Maybe a UK break would be better as could have better hotel.

I have been to Edinburgh for work last year and we stayed in the George hotel, very nice hotel, though you pay the price for it, around £280 a night, but there are other hotels just as nice that are cheaper!

Bars and restaurant close by and only a few minutes from Waverley station if you fancy venturing out.

OK - updated, going to stick to England. What options are there? Cambridge? York? Bath?

York is a wind tunnel this time of year,
Save Bath for summer so you can really enjoy it.

I prefer the Lake District in Winter, lots of things to see from inside a warm car.

Thanks - minor problem, we don't have cars as we live fairly central. I could rent one I suppose - I like the Lake District cottage idea. Any recommendations of decent companies to go with? Plenty on google.
