I would think there is nothing in it.
The faster set has higher timings, which is to be expected unless spanking £££ on ram.

Just go with whichever you please. Long gone are the AMD 64 days where ram speed and timings made quite an impact on your overall performance.

Thanks for the replies. Usually I would go for better speeds but I am building it for my friend and its his first gaming PC so he's looking at the better looking ram (Fury) haha.

Now he just needs to decide 2 x RED or 1x Red 1 x Black :)

I went from 1600MHz CL8-8-8-24 1T 1.5v to 2133MHz CL10-11-11-30 2T 1.65v this monday and I haven't seen the shadow of a performance difference on my X79 platform.

you wont notice much difference unless you are benchmarking performance wise i would say they are very close from what i keep reading you want to get memory where the timings are very tight and then you might see some improvement but then it is likely to be 1-2% increase

You should see improvements in encoding video and other stuff but generally everyday you would be hard pressed to notice the difference from 1333 & 2000, in my humble opinion
