.

yeah loose if its flickering I would have thought, either the wires going to the bulb/holder

check the bulb aswell, sometimes the filament brakes on one side and touches momentarily, scratch the contacts up with a screwdriver where the bulb plugs in and spray with wd40

Cheers, it looks like a pain to get at on my 2012 Street Triple.

If it's anything like the Speed then all the cabling will be under a panel, under the bike (i.e. above the rear fender). Really easy to get to, it all pretty much just drops out when you take the panel off.

Edit:
Have a look at this: http://www.rg-racing.com/Images/Products/ProductFields/pdf1681_83.pdf

It's the instructions to fit the R&G tail tidy but gives you and idea of where everything is. Looks like your connectors are just below the seat?

Do you have similar for the 2009-2012 models?

If that isn't it, go onto the R&G website and they're all there. Just choose the tail tidy and go to documents.

Official manuals here as well: http://www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/services/manuals although I don't think that would include anything useful in this case.

Edit: do you currently have a tail tidy? If not, now might the time to stick one on as that comes with a separate LED number plate light anyway :)

Tail tidies are legal here, are they not there?! I know it's a legal requirement for manufacturers to have the number plate as the furthest thing on the rear (can't remember the exact wording) but it's not a road law at all.

It's disgraceful that you haven't got a tail tidy on it yet! Are you sure it's illegal over there?!

You can pay £2000 to have it assessed if you want, and it might pass.

Started taking the tail apart and tested for the fault again but couldn't find it... problem solved!
