any auto oiler oil would work, aslong as its thin enough to pass through the oiling system

scottoiler oil would work just the same

I'm using 10w40 for my loobman but it can take many different types of oil and from what I've read it's the same with the Tutoro and Scottoiler.

If I remember correctly Delboy's garage uses Chainsaw oil in his scottoiler and I'll probably be moving to a cheap thicker oil when I run out.

Have you read this What oil should I use?

Yeah I read that, and it's a bit confusing as they only say what oil to use when it's hot, and to use their own oil when it's cold (below 25C).

They say not to use 10w40, but you use it fine

Well it's only been a day so far so I can't really say too much about it but it seems fine plus it's what Dennis 'Loobman' recommends and who'd know better than him :D

If you google Tutoro "which oil" you can see that people are using a wide variety of oils including 10w40, that being said the Tutoro article says use at least 20w so you could try that.

Personally I don't want a sticky chain that needs cleaning too often so I quite like the thinner ones which I imagine keep the worst of the dirt off. I may go a bit thicker when I run out but I'll see how I get on. If I'm honest I never really considered the weather but I guess I need to read up on that a wee bit more.

I used to just use the Scottoiler blue stuff which seemed to do a good job of lubing and keeping the chain itself clean for longer. Loads of places seem to stock them so worth looking around to see if one delivers cheap to you.

depending how you route the tube you can run it along the fram for a bit which will warm u pand thin the oil nicely

The scottoiler red high temp stuff is good for the continent where you can get really long hot summers, the blue stuff just get's to thin at 25-30c. I've kept a bottle just for holidays.

Once you set them up correctly they don't really use up that much oil. Could just buy a few bottles at a time to make it cheaper on postage but sure they have the stuff out in France.

I think I'd always need the red stuff as it's over 25C for most of the riding season here.

Good shout on France, I'll have to see if there are any auto shops near the border.

You get in touch with them and utilise a bit of charisma.

You also have a well thought out plan for some videos (along with previous examples) you want to make with the product, and a compelling reason why it's beneficial for them to send you one of their products.

I got in touch with the manufacturer directly and will be receiving a full kit with specific adapters for my bike.

The question is are you also getting a lifetime supply of the oil?

I'm hoping to finally getting round to fitting mine tomorrow as the weathers supposed to be nice.

Ah I see but again who, Scottoiler, Tutoro?
