Nicely done, although I kinda prefer the Scottoiler I wouldn't want to tackle fitting it, whereas the Tutoro looks really simple, if the price wasn't so high I'd have definitely bought one. Looking forward to the review.
 
Yeah, which is why I didn't buy one as I'm not sure about that.

The answer is a negligible amount, once you have set the flow control correctly.

It takes a while to get the optimal setting, IIRC mine only needs between 1/4 and 1/2 turn open, and that's enough to keep the chain looking like new but with almost nothing showing on the tyre sidewalls.

If the tutoro writers as well as the scottoiler then I much prefer the design. Far simpler, mechanical and universal.
 
It only drips when it's moving, so when the bike is vibrating/going down the road, it has a little weight on the end of a shaft I think, which moves with the vibration and when it moves a couple of mm it opens the valve which allows oil to flow.
 
Exactly, if it works it's a lot better than plumbing it into a bike as its simpler and universal.

Agreed if it works as well as claimed then it's a genius idea. I quite like their cheap manual one too which you just set the flow rate at the beginning of the journey but you have to remember to turn it off which I know I'd fail to do.

That's good to hear. I've only had mine a few weeks and am pretty happy with it. The chain and sprockets are much cleaner than I'd expect them to be and I can't see any fling off on the back wheel so that great too.
I'm kinda wondering if I'd bother with a more expensive solution now I rarely forget to press it before a ride and if I do I usually remember at the traffic lights. I put around 100ml of 10w40 in a while ago and haven't used it all yet.
 
I don't like them, too messy and I prefer to manually lube the chain every few hundred miles up on a paddock stand. It also gives the opportunity to clean and check the chain condition and tension at the same time.

Of the two bikes I've had which came with an oiler fitted, both had them removed and sold on :D
