Funny thread.
Would he really have much left for a good **** up? Anyone in right mind would now offer less than the cost of a new Ti for a used TXP - and I'm saying that as someone who owns a TXP.
IMO a used TXP worth £600 absolutely max when a reference Ti from NV is £699 brand spanking new.

However, if someone wants to do this side grade then that's up to them - you only live once.

If money wasn't an issue for you then why would you need to sell the Titan? I could understand if you were genuinely into hardware and just wanted to experience the shiny new card, but having to fund the purchase by selling your Titan and having to justify the purchase with claims of extra FPS don't make no sense.

Take a couple of Anadin Extra and get your head straight.

Does NVidia claim they are then? I don't remember reading that, also they are cut down slightly from a titan, so I find that hard to belive.

Does anyone here believe Nvidia's claim 1080Ti is slightly faster the TXP? Because now I have a Ti I'm convinced they are pretty much identical for games at least...

I'm selling my Titan X P for a 1080Ti

Get help?

No but really what is the point? Why not just water cool your TXP. Even for people that have money, surely this is just a massive waste of it?

Keep the TXP and water cool, overclock and profit.

Yes. The memory is a little faster and I think the cards clock a little higher as standard although the TXP still has some additional things too (more ROPS). In games, looking at some of the reviews the increase over a TXP is minimal and the TXP still wins in some. Depends on resolutions too of course, higher will likely favour the TXP with the extra memory/ROPS etc. Cuda core count is the same for both.

Well most benchmarks show that it is a few fps ahead the TXP in most cases (using thier own in house coolers) so they while they are correct its so so minor really doubt it makes a difference in actual play. Still they can legitimately use that tagline.

Would an AIB 1080Ti be significantly quieter than a TXP? About the only reason I could see anyone doing this swap.

Not significantly. The TXP stock fan profile is reasonable, but really hampers the boost, so a comparable AIB cooler on a 1080Ti will be able to maintain similar or slightly quieter noise levels while handily being able to boost higher and out perform the TXP. FE cooler becomes a lot louder if you try to crank up the fan speed to try and attain similar clocks as AIB cards get. Having said that, its not unique and the 1080Ti FE will be constrained similarly.

I thought they did make the claim... but obviously you know better :p

So basically its like 3fps faster in some situations... so OP would do better to stick with his lovely Titan XP for sure :p

If I can save £200 by selling my TXP and getting the Ti I will, but aside from saving money, there is no reason to get the Ti if you have a TXP...
