I've seen one that fixes in to the tow eye thread, not sure when you get them (might have been a custom job). Perfect workaround

Seems dodgy to me as most seem to be offset.

Audi are the same..I towed with a 2013 rs6 then bought a 2015 model never even give a thought only to find out when the log book came back that the trailer weight part was blank so cant legally be used as a tow car..didn't even realise that if its blank on the vin sticker it's a non tow car...even fitted the towbar so font know what to do now

Well step one is definitely to sign up to a computer shop's forum to ask the small motors community a question in a 3-year old thread.

Step two is to remove the towbar and not tow anything with it.

Step three is likely to buy a type-approved tow car, seeing as you appear to have a need to tow.

If it's just a bike rack then it's not towing. I don't see how it's any different to fitting a roof rack.

cos the durability of the bumper beam mounting to the body structure might be a problem.
