18kg flywheel?

I see that some reviews of Flywheel bikes say that you can stand while cycling while others you can't which makes things more confusing.
Maybe they're talking about the mass of the wheel giving enough resistance to stand and pedal without it feeling horrible. Or maybe something totally different.

Is that directly related to the flywheel?
For example, this one looks pretty flimsy and I doubt you'd be able to stand whilst riding. This one is more of a traditional spinning style and would be solid enough to stand.
They both have different size flywheels but the ability to stand isn't related to the size of the flywheel at all.

The above review is a good example of a cheap £300 flywheel bike that gives mixed messages , if you watch from 4:00 mins onwards she says it's great for her but not for someone bigger and heavier as she thinks it might be too unstable and at 4:40 mins she shows you Wobbly handlebars that she can't tighten.

So i'm guessing the build quality is the main issue with stand up cycling rather than flywheel or base stability but i could be wrong as reviews seem to contradict each other.

Been looking at spinning bikes and there is a huge difference if you go for a cheaper bike with a light fly wheel. If you've ever used a decent one in a gym and then a cheap one bought for the home then it's night and day between them

I picked up this one just before lockdown (cheaper as a result!). 13kg flywheel and it’s great, me and my wife use it a few times a week for Apple fitness spin classes. Absolutely no issues with movement.

I had the same concerns regarding the flywheel before purchasing but I bit the bullet on a ‘cheaper’ bike and glad I did.

Is it noisy? I'm the same conundrum myself!

I've recently had a JLL IC300 pro delivered, it has a 20kg flywheel and I'm very impressed so far, yet to do a real session on it though but it is very well built and near silent when cycling due to the magnetic resistance, unfortunately the price has recently been bumped up which held me off picking one up sooner but it seems unlikely it will be coming back down anytime soon and the 3 week delivery time ended up only being 3 days for me so I was happy with that.

Only bike i can compare it to was a Wattbike i used at the Gym and its missing all the bells and whistles of it but for sit down and make my legs (and other more sensitive areas) hurt it does an excellent job.

I don’t have anything to compare really, but it seems fine to me, it’s never occurred to me that it’s noisy put it that way.
Thanks for the reply. I ended up going with the ominously more expensive IC8 which had a magnetic flywheel... perhaps an unnecessary overspend...! :o
