Going to be purchasing components for a new rig soon. It's going to consist of the following:

AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz AM3+ Processor (8-Core Vishera)
Crosshair V Formula Motherboard
16GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600 MHz
AMD Radeon 7970 3GB Graphics (Possibly Crossfire at a later date)
XSPC Raystorm RS360 Water Cooling Kit
750w~ PSU (No idea which to go for)
Unsure what case to get yet :(

2x Acer H6 LED IPS 23" Montiors
Corsair M95 White Gaming Mouse
ROCCAT Isku FX Multicolour Illuminated Keyboard
Creative A520 5.1 Speaker System

Any ideas on a good case would be nice :) Also going to mod the case with LED strips and cathodes, want it to look pretty (: Will post pics of the build and things once i eventually purchase the components, about 2-3 months away! Unless my wages suddenly go missing, as the usually do -_-

For that kind of budget going Intel would seem to make sense, although it might be easier if you separate out your budget for the different parts.

So something like (rough guess): Monitors: £200, Peripherals: £200, Watercooling: £300, Components: £1200.

Opps I went a bit mad .......

The watercooling kit arrived yesterday :) Looks soooo pretty, can't actually believe the weight of the radiator alone! It's HUGEEE :p It's not a nice feeling when you can't just start building now, especially when you only have your WC kit!

In regards to your replies, i personally don't like Intel, mainly because they're a lot more expensive than AMD. I don't want to go for a 4770k because i won't be doing any emulating, which would be a bit overkill imo. Windows 8 - not a fan, i work at a similar shop in Bradford, and we have Windows 8 on some of the systems, if not all the systems, i've purchased a laptop for my sister with it on & set it up for her and quite honestly, despite the smoothness of it, Windows 7 is probably the best OS imo. Don't particularly want a Gigabyte motherboard, even tho i know they're extremely reliable, but i want something that's pretty stable with OCing. Don't particularly want a 3D monitor or anything over 23" atm. Not a fan of nVidia for some reason, possibly because Battlefield 4's Frostbite 3 Engine is going to be more optimized for AMD.

Thank you for all your ideas guys, some of it has made me rethink some of my components :)

Sneakeh could remove the competitor name from your post please :)

My bad. Edited :]

If you're looking to play games like BF4 on two monitors then two 7970s would be a good plan. If it won't fit in the budget, 2x7950s.

I'd also get an 850W XFX PSU for Crossfire.

This board for high overclock perhaps, it's what AMD recommends for the 9590:

I will most likely purchase a second 7970 in the near future for Crossfiring, which is one of the reasons why i want a Modular PSU. 850W should be good enough, as it needs to power all components including Watercooling kit & some LED strips/cathodes for lighting the case :)

In terms of the board, i won't be Max overclocking, but i do want to get at least 1ghz extra from it, as i know it can be done on Watercooling. A friend of mine at work has the same chip and the XSPC Raystorm RS240 kit, and he said he got 5GHz out of it, so the RS360 version should easily cope, with the extra airflow.

Drools* j-just awsome build... GRR, I'm wondering if I should spend a little more on my build too, for an extra 200 quid.. just means you get a very special system.

Good luck with your build OP, but from what I', understanding you should spec in an i7 Intel chip, for this kind of money, it's just a no brainer imo.
