the 1900xtx cards are very good card! but if you ask me there articture is not the best because they run at 90 oc while gaming and there still built on the 90mm process which if you ask me is very warm for the low temputure manufacturing process.

what ati have done is got theer fastest chip and just chocked it on and not really bothering to perfect the articture. because if they had perfected that this would be a serious killer i.e the amd 64 it has better articture than a p4 thus it run coller and is a faster cpu a lower clock frequinces so if you ask me ati have missed out on a golden oppunity and should have took some more time to perfect it chip. ;)

First,

you cant compare a gpu to a cpu at all.

Go read up on the specs of the x1900, one reason why it is hot is due to the 48 pixel shaders and ring bus.

Got the fastest chip and clocked it? what was the original?

The x1900 is a killer ;)

the k8 came out after the original netbust design, so its going to be better, all intel have done up untill this month is shrink, add cache and tweak, the design will finnaly be put to rest after this month but that has nothing to do with ati at all, the r580 and r520 are two separate entities.

Took more time to perfect it? what is there to perfect? it was built to the plan tbh.

Random bash at ati if you ask me with no real understanding that everything gets superseded every 4-6 months.

*edit* chances of getting bashed - 100% :D:rolleyes:

you still cant get away from the fact the the articyure is not the best in the world sure it a good card but it run very hot compared with th 7900gtx and and they drink power lets put it this way the 7900gtx is like a perfect v8 engine runds smooth and quick where the 1900xtx is ike a v10 quicker than a v8 but quicker but drinks more electrick juice and runs hotter and hot thing wear there self out!!!!1if i had to pick out of the 2 it would be the gtx everytime realibty and future upgrade a bility sli

power/heat is all over hyped imo. as long as youve got decent cooling/psu etc etc.
ATi cards have always ran hot anyways. and even though the x1900's are running at higher temps with higher power requirements, theyre not giving up like the new nvidia cards are, the 7900's are falling over left, right and centre right now.

are you sure youre not a fanboy trying to get more sales for nvidia cards? :p

Apart from the fact ATI Cards handle AA and AF better, overclocking options fair beyond nvidias (software controlled voltages :D) and the fiasco with 7900 cards at the moment, Im glad I went ATi.

Yes, they drink electricity and chuck out heat, but for people with water its awsome, mine doesn't pass 65C load @ 670/810 on stock cooler at 1.425/2.060.

CR.

now your compairing car engines to graphics cards?

:(

Put it like this, mr.fanboy, the x1900xtx and 7900gtx are matched.

people who moan about power and heat should go and buy a laptop or 6200le if they are so bothered about heat, thats also what w/cing is for :p

Ati has crossfire to match sli, and the 7900's arnt reliable at all, there is a HUGE problem with faulty cards right now.

the x1900 doesnt wear itself out either and the design is perfectly fine imo, just like the 7900.

And btw v8's are not cool, i would know, i have a twin turbo v8 sitting on the driveway, but thats another story. ;)

*edit* forgot to mention ati has better image quality, im not bias either as i have set up xfire and sli rigs and tested before i send them off.
