Hi all,

Heard a track the other night which took me back to when I used to listen to dance/trance music tracks back around 1999/2000.

Im thinking tracks by Binary Finary, Mauro Picotto, Darude, Delerium etc.

I used to have loads/a few compilation CDs but can't find them anywhere. I'm hoping people can jog my memory/help me find out which ones by posting examples of compilations they can remember also.

I really want to rekindle listening to that music again, if I can find it. I really used to enjoy watching/listening to MTV Dance back in those days, they had quality music tracks. I used to listen throughout the night :p

Thanks in advance.

Edward

Indeed,The Goa Mix from 1994 is a piece of art aswell.

^^The best Essential Mix ever ;) been listening to it on my iPod on the way to work this week again.

Gatecrasher Black, Red and Wet. Not the Classics abominations.

Gatecrasher Discotech Generation was the last good Gatecrasher CD.

Also take a look at some of the Global Underground CDs, Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren, Paul Oakenfold etc :)

Black and Red were very good. The rest were a bit dodgy.
Anyone remember the JDJ albums - think they were more mid-nineties.
Sasha and Digweed's Renaissance was and still is amazing, Theme from Bladerunner and Grace on there. Awesome.

I think I have just about all the albums listed in this thread.

Great days. Truly great. :):)

One of my favourite mp3s from that era was the below, sadly I've only got 46mins of it (it cuts out during Bullet in the Gun) and the quality isn't perfect due to dialup era:

13/01/2001 12:42 55,498,752 Paul Oakenfold - @Home in Space, Ibiza Part 2.mp3

Looking on the web this was the setlist, quite a few 'unknown' tracks in there but there is a fantastic driving beat throughout much of the part I have:

Paul Oakenfold - Live from Home @ Space in Ibiza Radio 1 Essential Mix (25-07-1999)

000:00 01. Nalin & Kane - "Open Your Eyes [Reworked Club Mix]"
007:30 02. Nat Monday - "Nucleus"
012:40 03. Blondie - "Nothing Is Real But The Girl [Danny Tenaglia Club Mix]"
019:19 04. Two Fishes - "Opera [Club Mix]"
023:45 05. Freefall feat. Jan Johnson - "Skydive [Mara Remix]"
030:22 06. Natious - "Amber [Lightning Mix]"
036:11 07. Boyd Westerman - "Belgium Sunday"
039:45 08. Jens - "Psycho Strings '99 [Bervoets & De Goeij Mix]"
043:31 09. Nalin & Kane - "Open Your Eyes [El Barco Para Es Vedra Mix]"
052:44 10. The Auranaut - "YoYo [Club Mix]"
061:20 11. Brainchild - "Symmetry C [Lange Breakbeat Mix]"
070:36 12. Saucermen - "Aquarius [Evolution Mix]"
079:17 13. Wonky vs. Radiohead - "Street Spirit [Wonky's Feel The Rush Remix]"
084:05 14. Der Dritte Raum - "Hale Bopp [Raumgleiterversion]"
091:48 15. Planet Perfecto - "Bullet In The Gun [Saturday Mix]"
100:40 16. LSG - "Shecan [WJ Henze Remix]"
104:22 17. Skip Raiders - "Another Day [Perfecto Mix]"
111:48 18. The Source - "Fly Away"

119:05

edit: Seems someone has upped it to Youtube in 8 parts, the 'driving beat' I was talking about is from this part:

Imagine how epic it would be to be there for 2 hours of this, you'd sweat out a stone!

Full set here: http://soundcloud.com/djmixes/paul-...ntial-mix-world-tour-live-at-home-space-ibiza
Just under 2 hours long, so you can listen to it 6 times over by the end of the day!
