1k Budget

**** it, new build wanted.

What can I build for 1k that will take every game I throw at it on a 24" monitor at high settings?

This build, gives you £130 to spare, which tbh Id pocket, though if its burning a hole in your pocket you could up the gfx card to one of the new 5850s at £300, but imo theyre a bit too steep and I expect them to come down within 6 months (as usual), alternatively you could get a cheap SSD for your boot disk

Edit: Oh forgot to say you could go AM3 instead of i5, about similar performance, swap the cpu and mobo for 955BE and asus crosshair formula

Also, what are these smaller watercooler systems like?

take away the 4890 and add a 5850 or 5870

It could be a wise choice.. but at the same time the prices of those cards... could drop dramatically in about 1-2 months, so i would stick with the 4890

I think i would probably stick with a 4890 at the moment also, the 5870 just doesent seem worth it right now
