Hi all,

After about 6 years my I5 3570k has blown on me and im now looking to upgrade

My budget is between 1k and 1.5k and im looking to game at 1440p (monitor not required)

Im kind of swayed towards AMD but in all honestly im not that fussed as long as im getting bang for buck.

Any advise would be most welcomed :)

Thanks
Gav

Welcome aboard.

Ryzen 3700X would be certainly good upgrade to go for many years with 8 cores/16 threads.

And when looking at more modern games AMD's Navi/RX 5700 cards perform really well for their price.

Do you have any parts like case/drives from current PC you can reuse?

Its all around 6 years old and wouldn't really feel comfortable using any of it except the HDD (haven't even an SSD lol)

My first thoughts were either the RTX 2070 supper or the RX 5700XT for 1440p....

Hi,

How about this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,248.88 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Good quality PSU would be mid aged at 6 years.
And good case lasts, mine is 11 years old.
Of course if you're giving(/dumping) old PC to be someone else's joy(/problem) those can't be reused.

For SSD would be aiming at 1TB.
There's only little if any difference in game loading times between NVMe and SATA SSDs:

So paying more per GB than in Corsair MP510 is waste of money.
Of course SATA SSD should be again cheaper than it tro be sensible.
