Ok, today all my components came for my new build apart from my GPU which is coming on the 16th so does anyone have any tips for me before i start? i have an old 9600GT which i could install but do you think i should wait till i get my N460GTX before i even start building?

Well will you have a graphics chip otherwise?

This is why it's generally better to get it all in one go horrible having to wait for one essential bit of kit!

Stick the 9600GT in and play some CSS/TF2 until the 460 comes imo

Ok i cancelled my order for an n460 and got a hd5850 for a cheaper price BUT i was wonder will it bottleneck my amd athlon II x3 460 its relatively new so i cant find much info on it and also will it run fine on my 500w corsair psu?

It will also run fine on your PSU.

Im just wondering why you went for the 5850 over the GTX 460? Was it a lot cheaper? That is theonly reason i would do it.

I seemed to think that the GTX460 had the edge. Not a bad swap then, i do remeber the 5850 being pricier though.

both cards are 2nd hand and about 3-5 months old the 5850 was £14 noy much but i found out the 5850 had better performace but im glad my components will work fine with this card! thank-you!
