So I was planning to build this here.
Now after the release of the new haswell refresh... my question is how much impact would the i5 4690k do in terms of temperature differences, stable overclocking, and the most important thing, my budget?
I also thought that instead of getting the really reliable Evo 212, I was thinking of getting the H100i or the H80i... although its just like the couple of quids of difference. And of top of that the Z97 boards are not much difference... So buy that instead the Z87.
My friend advised me to get 2nd hand PSU, 2nd hand cooling (fans, CPU cooler etc), 2nd hand RAM, 2nd hand Graphics card and a 2nd hand HDD and SSD...
Now I have no idea how stuff from ebay will benefit me, but all I know is there are some things that are good and reliable 2nd hand such as the PSU and the HDD but what about stuff that is factory refurbished? are they reliable?
And most importantly I plan to overclock my CPU up to 4.6 GHz with the lowest voltage possible! And also overclock the Graphics card if its not 2nd hand. However it will all depend on my lucky draw to get a decent CPU.
I plan to play on this PC for at least a couple of years before I really think of getting new computer parts.
My budget depends on my job but definitely will start at 760 Pounds, perhaps Christmas I will upgrade it further more.
