Hi,

Really new to the site been a member for a while but have not done much apart from reading the project section.

I have just jumped in and bought these bits and will be buying more asap to start my build.

It will be my 1st one and I'm sure I will need all the help I can get LOL

My Mobo will be the Asus Maximus VI HERO Z87, case Corsair 540, what RAM, CPU and PSU do you guy's recommend?

I will update as I much as I can with photo's.

RAM - I've allways been a bit of a corsair fan boy when it comes to RAM but at the moment for fairly decent nice looking RAM I think the Avexir kits are hard to beat. Something like: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-000-AR You can go for higher speeds but it really won't make any difference for the majority of tasks, just depends on your willingness to spend cash.

CPU - Probably a 4670k Link But again if you wanna spend cash for a small imporvement go for the 4770k, other option is wait a week or two and see what happens when the new motherboards and processors hit the shelves.

PSU - I've allways had good experiances with Silverstone but anything from Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone or Super Flower should stand you in pretty well, I'd probably plump for about 750w unless you think you may go SLI later then I'd go for something around 1000w, Allways better to overestimate than skimp on the wattage imo.
I will have a look into that RAM looks nice :) as for the PSU what power should I be looking at?

When do the new CPU come out? as I'm away for a couple weeks so fingers crossed they will be out and the 4770 will drop in price?

My *MSI Gaming 7 with a*Corsair*Hydro Series H75 plus two corsair AF120 Red LED 120mm Fans were delivered today, but what do I keep the H100i or the H75??

Thanks, just got a brandnew RM1000 for a good deal and I think I will just see if I can buy those cables from bitfenix.

Also get some braided fan wires.

No. 8GB for £120 is ludicrous, unless you're a top league overclocker and need 2800MHz to eke out the maximum possible benchmark results. 16GB for £158 is pretty expensive too but if you can afford it, okay.
That's what I thought when I saw the deal, thanks for your input.

So I have now ordered:
I7 4770k
Corsair 540
16GB g skill trident x 2400mhz
WD 2TB RED
SAMSUNG 840 250GB SSD

And a few other bits and bobs.

I bought the WD Red 2 TB drive because I think you get the same benefits of the WD Green drive (low noise, low price) while also getting a disk that is suited for RAID, you get 1 more year of warranty when buying the WD Red and last but not least It's stay cool and very quite, and I will be using my SSD as a boot drive.

Right my case has come, how long do you think it will take to build it? Not complete cable management but just the basic? Reason being is that my other half is at work and I have to kids under 3 to put to bed, will I have enough time lol
