I'm sure these questions are answered somewhere in here already, so apologies in advance!

Just bought and fitted one of these
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-161-SA

to an new htpc.

been reading that it's in the best interest of the drives health to turn off defrag, prefetch & superfetch-but I'll be buggered if I know how to(not even sure what prefetch & superfetch are!)

also read trim should be enabled, again how do I do that??

and finally whats a good piece of benching software to check i'm getting the correct speeds from the drive?

sorry for the probably noobish questions. I tried google but ended up more baffled than when I started!

If you are running Windows 8 you dont really have to worry about all that as it sets up to run the best with an ssd. If you go to disk tools you will see something called 'optimise' instead of defrag.

Just reduce your pagefile size.

Atto disk bench and hd tach are good benchmarks to use.
