1TB M2 SSD for game storage

I’m looking for recommendations for a 1TB M2 SSD for game storage to run alongside my OS drive which is a corsair mp510 nvme drive.

Does a game drive need to be an nvme or will a sata m2 drive be ok? Need a drive that will run fairly cool as it will be constantly accessed etc.

Corsair force 980gb
Teamgroup 1tb
Western digital 1tb

Either will suffice

WD black or blue? blue also comes in nvme or sata m2 and is cheaper and still 5yr warranty

Traditionally the black was faster as a mech drive but I've not looked at the specs. I'd would imagine they're not much different and you won't notice if they are.

...although the m2 and nvme will obviously be different

Samsung 860 Evo M2 Sata 1TB has been more than enough for my gaming and business needs total tbw 2400 or 5 years warranty. Which is the reason I bought one for my business laptop.

I have eight SSD's in various desktops/laptops - they are all Samsung and I have never had any failure - yet!

I've never had a failure on a non Samsung drive.

However most come with a 5 year warranty and don't people upgrade every 5 years anyway?
