There's loads of contenders in the £100 price range.

WD black (nothing spectacular but OK/reliable?)
Sabrent blue (a bit hit and miss with failures?)
Adata (2018 model is quite old now)

Then for a fair bit more is the 970 Evo Plus, but that's more like £150.

I haven't been following the SSD market recently. Prices have come down a fair bit. Are they all much of a muchness these days, specifically for gaming and desktop responsiveness?

I'm not moving large files around nor using SQL server or anything daft, and I'm not really interested in too much synthetic tests - just how it performs in games and desktop use.

Cheers.

The Samsung 970 evo plus was on offer over the weekend at 119 but offer has finished now mate wait if you can might go back down on black friday
We black is a decent drive mate
Sabrent is decent as well and does come with 5 year warranty yes there's been failures but anything can fail but you still get a 5 year warrnty
You won't notice any difference to be honest from conventional ssd for gaming mate nvme are for moving large files about then they come into there own by going nvme you also use less cables so tidier build

Think the ADATA is ruled out as they did a bait and switch on their controller... it's now a worse controller than when the drive was recommended.

The WD Black is on offer for £100, but as the rest of my system isn't coming till the new year, I might as well see what deals come on Friday, if any.
