I WAS THE ONE¬!

I chickened out when I got to 2000ms points but wanted to make sure I won something, had used 2 lifelines and know Im no Einstein of general knowledge!

Totally random too - had only joined the game just before the guy got disconnected and my avatar splashed up!!


If you ever get to be the one expect 100s of people asking you to join their party, be their friend, send voice messages and 2 or 3 people made it so that I continually got chat requests until I turned my xbox off and on again (after the game had fiished of course!) idiots!

Wow, that sounds a sure fire way to cause some kind of overload and crash your Xbox, hence causing you to disconnect and lose the game.

EDIT: Oh and congrats on your prize! Do you get awarded the 2000 points right away or do you have to wait for Xbox to contact you or something?

Ta :) I think it takes a few weeks - havent had an emails or anything yet..

In hindsight yes turn off any communication avenues - I never thought I'd be anything but part of the crowd! The guy who was the one before me was disconnected - perhaps he was bombarded int he same way and got disconnected..

Dannyb01y can't believe I was playing while an OcUK poster was the One! I thought your gamerscore was a really odd number so remember you. Very surprised you got in on your first go, we were led to believe being the one or the mob requires hours of constant participation and a good % of correct answers.

The chat/party requests etc were probably from mob members trying to put you off.

I thought I recognised your name from somewhere. Originally I thought I had seen you as the one on Friday as well, then I saw the fact you had exactly 20k GS I thought MS were taking the **** out of us :o
 
Looking at the percentage of utter numbnuts which constituted the one and mob tonight I think that stuff about being more likely to be chosen if you play the extended play a lot is obviously utter rubbish!

The amount of people that got that Julia Roberts question wrong right at the end was unbelievable, choosing Pretty Woman when the question said the year the film came out was 2001!

Another classic was the amount which got the "which band is the film this is Spinal Tap about?" wrong :D

Oh and the guy who went out on the first question chose "ask the brain" as his lifeline when there would be no 'brain' yet as no questions had been asked in that round :D
 
^^ haha yeah that one was brilliant. Some of people on this game are just seriously stupid. To dannyboy. I remember you being the one, simply because i thought your avatar looked so gay :D

The 'one' had to use a lifeline for that as well, and the very next question as well.

I cant see this not being a pay game when it comes out to give you a chance of being the one and to make them some money. 56000 people playing tonight, even if they charged 1 MS point per game they would make a few quid per game with an average 1000 point give away.

I hope it doesn't stay free because your chances of getting in the mob would be so low it almost wouldn't be worth it.

Or they could keep it free and just sell advertising space.
 
they should keep it free. Throw adverts at it left right and centre and have more games. Im sure they would still end up earning money. Unfortunately i can see them charging in the end, after all its microsoft and if they can claim money, they will

Yeah I think they should charge a small points fee even if they then upped the prize amount. It would clear out the numbers and give you a better chance of doing something other than being in the crowd.
 
I agree with the complaints about there being lots of thickos. So many times you see people in the mob getting ridiculously easy questions wrong and you just think, "what a wasted space.. that could have been me in the mob instead!"

Think how many annoying kids you come across on Xbox live.. You can guarantee that a good number of people that are playing are 12/13 year olds, and probably younger.


Just to clarify, are they definitely giving prizes out in the beta now? I'm sure I saw a disclaimer when you load the game up that says something along the lines of, "This is a beta only. No prizes will be given out except for the participation sweepstake."

Only in primetime events where it states underneat "With prizes" and a present symbol on the bottom right hand side.
