These 'ones' must be chosen completely randomly or fixed there's no way they go to be the one by answering well.

Right thats about 7 of the 8 live shows I've participated in the full 2 hour live show for I've got a 4,500,000 lifetime score from playing the extended plays and 71% right answer accuracy and I've yet to make it in the mob once.

Absolutely random who it picks all the guff about accuracy and speed is total guff as shown by the fact 90% of the people picked are thick as pig ****

I'd put money on the one being randomly generated characters from MS as well as the top scoring players. Don't see how anyone can have a reaction time of 0.056 like some of them have. Only chance we've got of winning is probably in the mob.

However it's done I find it very unbelievable that it's based purely on playing well... some of the questions the mob get wrong are ridiculous!

I played this for the first time last night, albeit on my mate's account.

It seemed to me the whole thing was all down to how fast you could press a button and not your general knowledge. The questions were far too easy bar 1-2 usually at the end of the round and usually the only time I got them wrong was due to trying to press the button too fast and making a mistake. I'm hoping this will change as the game is only beta..

What I couldn't understand is:
1. Mob selection - I assume it's the top 100 players from the previous round? I was very surprised I didn't make it several times despite being only 30-40 points from the top 10, and coupled with the criticality of button pressing, it makes it a bit rubbish
2. Mob/One stupidity - as previously mentioned, people were getting eliminated by incredibly easy questions and the one was often using up lifelines on very easy questions. How did they get into the mob if they were that stupid in the first place??
3. In the crowd, are the other 3 people playing with you just randomly selected at the start? I couldn't understand why we were put with them?

Is there anywhere we can write to about this because I feel like having a damn good rant at Microsoft. Maybe their UK HQ in Reading...

God knows, doubt it would do much good though.

I wouldn't be so annoyed about it if they didn't constantly say in the ad breaks that playing extended play and your speed and accuracy increase your chances of getting in the mob when it's obviously rubbish. There is clearly some cheating way of rigging getting into the mob.

My mate who I party with for each live session has also never made the mob and has played every show.

Doing some quick maths, to start with about 75,000 were playing we're down to 20-25,000 now probably averaging 40,000 per week. Roughly 1000 people make the mob in any one show giving you about a 40-1 chance of getting in the mob, now between 2 of us we've played a combined total of 15 shows which would translate into about 150 chances of getting in the mob (averaging 10 games per live show)

Now I'm no maths genius but we must be seriously unlucky to have not made it in the mob in 150 tries when the odds are about 40-1!

Had a go at this last week. Hmm so there are ppl out there who get every question right with a insta-reaction time and no passes? Sure. Some dodgy stuff going on in this already.

Every time I look at the stats for reaction time, the top people have an average reaction of ~0.05s. There is no way that is physically possible!

They will be the people just hammering one of the buttons to get on the leaderboard? Their accuracy probably won't be very high!

And I'm sure some people have been in the mob TWICE at least.

Ive been in the mob two weeks on the trot now, for both live plays each week.

I think it goes off accuracy rather then speed. my score aint anything hot due to not being the quickest to answer each time, but my correct answer % each week is over 95% and ive managed to get in so.
go me :P

On those calculations surely it's 40-1 per show... so you've only been in for 15 shows, not 150. You've incorporated the 10 chances per show statistic twice!

Right we're off for another weekend of disappointment.

40" LCD TV up for grabs tonight. Carcassone is the Arcade game so no doubt tonight is the night I'm going to win something as I've already got that for free when Microsoft gave it away one time!
