Hi guys.

I have just recently bought a 150Gb Raptor drive. This will be in my machine alongside my 74Gb Raptor.

At the moment windows is installed on my 74Gb Raptor (150Gb Will be Here Tomorrow)

Now here is my questions

Do i keep windows on my 74gb and just use the 150Gb for my games etc ?. Or do i put windows on my 150Gb plus my games and use the 74Gb as backup.

Performance is the key here. Im tempted to just leave windows on the 74Gb, and use th 150Gb for games etc but will this hinder performance ?

Thanks guys for your time. Your anwsers are appreciated

The 150gb should be a bit faster so I'd throw Windows and the games onto it, I don't know how it would compare with splitting games and Windows onto different drives though I'm afraid. :)

Yeah thats the thing i was wondering. It would have to access both drives when playing games.

Another thing is this.

I currently have a few games on my 74Gb version. Is it possible to say copy them across to the new 150Gb drive ?

If ypure doing it to preserve your saves, then id reinstall on the new drive then copy the one off the other drive over the top :)

I would think leave os on the 74gb hd and games on the 150gb hd rather than partition the 150gb. 2 heads are better than one with seperate drives. If you partition it the drive head will be moving between 2 partitions and I think you would lose performance, doubt it would be noticeable thou.

Why would the 150gb be faster? all reviews i say when the 150gb had come it put the 74gb raptor ever so slightly ahead

There are a few different opinions on this and it is seems it may depend on when the 74gb Raptor is made, I was just going with the general rule that the newer the drive is the more advances have been made and therefore the faster it is plus the platter size should be the same on both (74gb and 150gb) so I guess there won't be much in it.

Thanks for your replies everyone.

I have put windows on the raptor 150Gb with all my games. I am using the 74Gb raptor for demos, patches etc.
