If you get bored with it, around the same agai would see the nicechap at Woodsport in Durham (go to www.twobrutal.com) will drop you in a nice V6 around 225 horsies and that gives you a hell of a warranty from what I hear. He´ll also charge the V6 if you want to be a total headcase.

Oh, some fruitcake is also trying to put a lexus v8 in the back of one as well. He had too many harribo methinks....

Only problem with that is putting a turbo engine in is probably easier and will be more powerful.

Although the v6 in gear times and engine noise are much, much better :)
 
It's more than likely that I'll be keeping this fairly standard, perhaps swap the original exhaust for a mongoose system and sort out some CAI. I had considered putting a turbo engine in, but I think I'd rather just sell this one and buy a turbo if I was going to do that. The car is in such good nick that it would be a shame to do it, seeing as most of the mr2's around now have been molested.
 
3.8k for a 13 year old MR2?? had no idea these cost so much.

not keen on the standard wheels, but bar that looks mint condition. :)

£3800 is WAAAAAY overline for that car, these change hands in the trade for around £1000 at best! Ive just done a quick search on autotrader which is revealing decent looking examples on private sale for like half what you are about to pay. The used car market is taking a tanking, take advantage and bite someones arms off who has to sell.

For reference, my mate got his L reg 2.0 N/a (Rev 2) T-bar 113k miles in Caribbean Blue for £1,750 back in February.

The weather seems to inflate the costs of these though.

I understand that the price is quite high, but i'm comfortable paying the asking price because the car is in immaculate condition, its 10 minutes down the road and the seller is a local well known driving instructor. the mileage is fairly low for the age and in the last 8 years he has owned it it has been driven in the wet twice. it was his summer car and has always been garaged and serviced by the same dealer every year without fail. there is full history to back it up.
Knowing the cars background is as it is was one of the main factors in me buying it. I'm sure I could find one in good nick for less, but it could be 300 miles away and be a ballache to get back etc.

I honestly think i'd struggle to find a UK totally standard T bar in this condition for less.

also, another reason I went for this over a turbo in the end is because insurance is 500 quid less.

I'm happy with my choice and I think it'll be a fun car to own for a couple of years through uni.
 
Although I agree the price seems rather high, it's your decision and I hope you enjoy it.

Get yourself over to IMOC, MR2OC and TB Development forums. Loads of handy advice on there if you have any problems.
