2.1 PC speaker system

WOW! Just connected my new Aego M's to my 360. Ammaaaaaazing :)

I mean admittedly im going from my samsung HDTV's speakers to these, but still, I know good audio when I hear it! The clarity is amazing, fired up COD3 and was hearing stuff I never heard before, even at low volume! Cranked the volume up a bit, fired a gun and roared! :D

I'm still not entirely sure how i'd split the input to connect the line out of my PC as well as the phono's of my 360's VGA cable though? Those cables you linked dont seem to take into account the Left and Right phonos? I'm probably confused however. ;)

Basically I think I need a lead with left/right phono plugs (into the sub) going to 4 phono holes/sockets (2x each of left and right) ? Is this correct?

You could use two phono splitters, one for the left and one for the right phono inputs in the sub. Something like this:

Using the 3.5mm to 2x phono lead that came with the speakers, connect the right phono lead to one input on the right phono splitter and then the same for the left phono lead. Then do the same for the Xbox phono cable. This should leave you with two left phone leads going into the left input and then two right phono leads going into the right input.

If you don't get that then i can draw a diagram to help explain, but i warn you...my drawings suck :p

Spot on mate, cheers. Only remaining question is am I going to lose any clarity/quality with both inputs connected?

Seeing as you'll be using a splitter, the quality will be reduced slightly. However i use a splitter on the output of my soundcard (the amp for my speedlink medusa headphones acts as a splitter) and i haven't noticed much, if any, loss in quality. I shouldn't worry about it, unless you're a sound professional/very picky :p

Ok well it wont cost much to try anyway. Cheers for the help.

Klipsch Promedia GMX 2.1s will offer you superb sound by all account. I have used a pair of original Pro-media 2.1s for 4/5 years and they are simply astounding speakers.

The GMX have the advantage of additional inputs, such as phono, which will be ideal for your Xbox (something my Promedias sorely lacked).

If you do consider the GMX speakers, I'd try and listen to a pair first - I've read quite a few reports about audible hissing, although this is always subject to the person listening to them

I'm assuming you use a mini jack to mini jack from your soundcard's output to the line-in on the desktop control unit. Do these speakers come with that cable?

Also if you had a Xbox360 plugged in via the phono connections could does it produce sound at same time as the mini jack from your PC or does the dual input have to be switched over?

Finally, lol, is the desktop control unit thing easy to use/have a good solid feel to it or is it a bit plasticy and tacky.
