It would probably be neater if you just reinstalled XP however in theory at least it is possible providing you make sure the SATA Raid drivers are installed onto the hard drive before you copy it across. Do you have a spare backup drive to store your Windows install on while you setup Raid0? If not you will have to wipe everything off the drives to build the array anyway.
Also remember if doing a fresh install you will need a floppy disk drive to install the Raid drivers.
That's probably cause the drivers never actually installed as they never found the correct hardware installed. A sort of chicken/egg situation as you can't change the BIOS till the drivers are installed and the drivers won't install until the BIOS has been changed.
