2 2600xt ddr4 version in crossfire results

I would just like to say I have found this thread very helpful. I currently run a X800GTO and fail at playing bioshock because of lack of SM3.0 support. I was undecided on an upgrade, but have now gone for one of these cards. Should be with me tomorrow.

For £94 it's an absolute bargain, and I'm sure I will see a very nice increase when I get my hands on OC'ing it. I am really looking forward to playing with this. As it is cheaper than the X1950XT, it won't hurt my pocket so bad when I upgrade to the latest DX10 range next year. An ideal stepping stone.

BTW, I will be getting a C2Q in 2 months, with a crossfire board, so I may get 2nd one of these as well, just to tide me over of course.. :0

Unfortunately all I will say is that the DDR3 version @ £70 would have been money better spent as the DDR4 is not worth the extra £24! But these are very solid cards and they do HD stuff very nicely too :) Great for Media PC's too!

to be honest crossfire wouldn't be worth it on a motherboard that can only run the 2nd card at 4x..

i think only amd motherboards can only run both cards at 16x, not intel.. but i maybe wrong about "not intel"

Well I did get my second card for £59 so it was worth it even @ 4x, 3D Mark 06 I believe is sitting at around 8050 which shows how the 4x effects it but its cheap and a nice boost! Tempted to sell both though and get a 2900xt now the HR-03 Cooler is available :)

Don't forget your warranty will be invalid if you change coolers and if the cooling is for higher overclocks then don't expect much increase in fps in games, you will get a nicer 3DM06 score though. This new cooler looks good for lowering temps by a lot as well and to some people that may be worth the sacrifice of the warranty.

I'm aware of that Raven but I have changed many coolers and I have replaced them with the stock one if they become faulty and have never been caught out. Even when I did so with my 8800GTS and that was returned the manufacturer ;)

Gareth I didnt publish the result so I will run it again tonight and post it later for you, you will see the impact that 4x brings as the Shader scores both suffer by around 300points I think to your original score

this is the last one i did. all at stock

3DMark Score 8854
3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 3500 Marks

Just got my new card installed, did a quick test and tried the built in overdrive facility in CCC.
I saw someone posting earlier that "it was well known" they were only getting clocks of 857Mhz out of these boards and no higher. Well the reason for that is that they were using the ccc. It limits your overclock to a maximum of 857Mhz, which this card hit off the bat with only a 1C increase in temps...

Looking forward to some real testing.

Thats an impressive amount of testing.
Can you have two of those cards in a quad-crossfire or the like. Would be interesting to see those results, if its possible.

i clocked my 2 2600xt's ddr4 version to 880mhz using amd gpu tool. but that program it isn't good. ati tools doesn't overclock in crossfire for the 2x00 series yet..

overdrive doesn't work.. it doesn't clock it... it still saying 800mhz

I have the same problem with overdrive.

I was on the drivers that came with the card and it overclocked fine. I've just upgraded to cat 7.8, now the overdrive function does not work, how lame...

u could try amd gpu tools but as i said this program isn't good because it freezes sometimes

Impressive amount and thoroughness of testing, thanks! :)

Prices on these seem to have dropped since you started this thread as well, so 2 of these might actually be a better bargain than a single high-end card in some cases (and offer a cheaper upgrade path by allowing you to get 1 and then a 2nd one when the prices have dropped).
