Newsleecher is the program i use and newshosting is my hoster and i have no problems but of course you pay 10 euros or so per month for the privilege, but well worth it. Man i hate torrents. The dirtiest form of downloading ever.

Same here, I really do hate torrents. I get Usenet free from my ISP as well, so it's all good :D.

I'm with BT and they use Giganews servers so the data has a 240 retention and it maxes out my connection. We've only got a 750Kbps line so I'm not actually sure what the speed limit is, if any.

Will definitely be buying Usenet if I move to an ISP that doesn't provide it for free.

How much do BT let you download and how much are you paying for your internets monthly?

I've downloaded in excess of 40GB from the free server for a few months - I know it's not much, but it's pretty much the most I can get on my internet (I only run Usenet downloads overnight else it slows everything down during the day). I'm surprised it's not limited to 10GB or so considering it's free.

We're paying around £30 a month for the top unlimited package on BT, but I'm pretty sure all the packages they offer come with the free usenet.

They use Giganews for the servers as well which is nice - if you do decide to go with BT you can connect to either news.btinternet.com or europe.isp.giganews.com. Both are the same servers I think, just different URLs. I prefer to use the europe.isp.giganews.com link just to eliminate the chance of the news.btinternet.com URL going down and disallowing me accessing.
