2.5 inch SATA no plug???

Hey,

I have a hard drive I have took out of my laptop cause it died and I need to get the data from it.

It does not have standard SATA plugs, does anyone know of an adapter or a way to get into this?

I have attached a picture, any help would be great.

It looks like there's an interposer attached.

Try carefully (and gently) removing the black bit with the pins sticking out of it.

Yeah I'd agree with that, seems like there is something over the connectors.

Get a 2.5" Sata to eSATA & USB2.0 hard drive enclosure for 2.5 inch SATA hard drives

Mine cost me about £10, allowed me to then retrieve dat from the 2.5" drive, same as in this link.

google your laptop model name might shed some light, you won't be the first taking the HDD out!

Thanks, just pulled the thing off like suggested.

I need to get some data from the my documents folder, is it as simple as plugging it in as a secondary and copy the files over? Or is there some sorta encryption? The OS on the hard drive was vista home basic, but in plugging it into my pc that has windows 7.
