2.5" SATA connectors

Does anyone know if 2.5" SATA connectors are the same size as 3.5"?

My neighbour needs to do a reinstall on his laptop, and needs to get some data of first.

If they are the same size I can just connect it up to my PC and dump everything off which will save a lot of time and money.

Yeah they are the same connectors for 2.5" and 3.5" so no reason not to be able to plug in to your PC to obtain data from it.
