What's the difference in performance between a 2.5" 7200RPM drive and a 3.5" 7200RPM drive? I understand that the laptop drives are generally a little slower but by how much?
The reason I ask is that I have run out of space in my rig. However I do have one of these installed:

So with the intent of one day having SSD drives in there, I wondered whether it would be worth grabbing two Scorpio Blacks and pop them into RAID in the mean time? I would opt for a SSD but my moneys have taken a heavy hit now the ski season has arrived...
Any oppinions/ideas are welcome!
