Just a quick question, is it possible to run 2 routers from one ASDL line?

I want it so if a router gets turned off, I can turn another one on, with as little re plugging as possible. I was going to have 2 adsl filters, and probably use one of them phone line splitter things.

Doh, yea, I meant ADSL...

As for the reason, I'm having problems with one of my routers being too far away, so I need to switch over when I get problems... I've already got 2 routers, I'm gonna get another filter, and have a play. I've also experimented with pringles cans and woks, which has improved speeds a bit, but a router at each end of the house is worth trying I reackon. :)

You could try getting an 802.11n router, but then you'd need compatible cards for the pc. Using powerline equipment. Or maybe it's possible to use an ap to boost the signal?

Why not set up one router as a repeater? It would connect to the main router as a client and relay all all connected clients to the real router. It doesn't even have to do its own DHCP.
