Guys,

After 2 utilise for my netbook,

1st - which turns of everything other than what's required to playback movies - something like battery saver.

2nd - something to lock the machine when playing
a video, my daughter loves to watch films / cartoons but knocks the keys and takes it off full screen.

Any help appreciated.
 
1st - plug it in

2nd - tie your daughters hands up

on a serious note, windows 7 has a very good power saver feature under "personalize" and then its simply turning of the wirless etc... with the "fn" key. As for locking the pc have a look at Toddler trap - it locks all the keys accept for the mouse button which is used to close the program http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Skrommel/ToddlerTrap/ToddlerTrap.exe
 
Difficult to plug it in on the beach or at 10;000 feet - got it for my hols.

Will give todlertrap a good, As for the battery , I was hoping for something I could set a couple of profiles in, sure I've seen something before - guess the trick is knowing what to turn off, stop running etc.
 
yeh if you right clock on the desktop and click personalize then clock the screen saver then power saving, you can set it to power saver mode and then turn off the wirless etc..
 
Just had a quick go with toddlertrap.

Ok - but I can't watch a video in full screen with it as I can start the film - but then have to tab out to start toddler trap - then can't get back....grrrr
