2 builds - need your help to finalise these specs once and for all!

Have decided to swap the mobo for the slightly more expensive P6T as I would like the option of crossfire or sli in the future.

I just need to sort the ram out now, I'm confused that the mobo states it will support 1600mhz but only when O.C. I'm concerned that I will have hassle if I use 1600Mhz. Do I simply need to tweak something in the bios to make this work or is it easier to just go for 1333Mhz?

Help me choose the ram and I promise I'll order and leave you all alone. Until it comes to build time that is!

Oops, sorry Essexraptor as I must have posted at the same time as you. I'm happy to go with the 1600Mhz given your reply. Just need to know if the P6T mobo will support a 1.6 voltage?

I'm conscious I'm being a nuisance with all this but I'm sure you will all understand my hesitation given the amount of money I'm about to spend!

Just check out the Overclocking threads!...most of us are using 1.64 - 1.66v on this and similiar boards. Just be aware that the ones you chose are max rated at 1.6v which is not a problem as long as you don't put higher through them.

Now I'm scared, nervously excited but more scared lol. Didn't actually take the plunge last night but I have done this evening! However, I did change the order slightly and have gone with the following:

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - OEM

Asus P6T Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard

BenQ G2420HDB 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Saitek Eclipse K140 Slimline Multimedia Backlit Keyboard

I've basically gone mad and spent even more money! Decided I didn't want the Lancool case because I don't want plastic and steel and have changed the 650w psu to the 750w. It must have been the devil on my shoulder but I feel more secure in the knowledge of a better quality case and more power if and when needed.

I also swapped out the ram and ordered the Patriot Viper simply because the leds and lack of heat spreader on the Geil put me off.

As for the cpu cooler, I've ordered a Cool-It Eco from elsewhere.

I've just got to source 2 copies of windows 7 retail for as little as poss now :(

I'm still paranoid and am expecting you all to call me a numpty for not spending the money more wisely!

Can I just ask for peace of mind as my order is showing as 'complete' but I have yet to take delivery! I would have expected the status to show as 'shipped' and that it should only show as 'complete' when it has been signed for?

it shows as complete once it has left the warehouse, and you shud be able to use your tracking number to check on the couriers website!

Received my order today but is probably going to be the weekend before I can get round to putting the systems together. Not had the chance to open each parcel and inspect etc but there is no damage to the boxes, everything was packaged well.

However, I do have a bit of a gripe! I ordered the following for my daughter as she liked the case: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-212-OK&groupid=701&catid=110&subcat= but the actual case received was a CoolerMaster Elite!

For me it is not a major issue as this is likely to be better quality than the Akasa? However, my daughter did pull a face. I have managed to convince her that the CoolerMaster is a decent case and will leave it at that but I do think the product picture and description should be changed if it is a stock issue.
