Hi guys,

I was first planning on buying a GeForce 780 gtx but then thought id get a 780 gtx ti, but after reading a small amount oline would you say im better off going radeon and buying a 290? They seem to have the gtx beat? Does that include the ti version? I have about 550 to spend. Whats your thoughts on this guys

Thanks for all your help so far

Ive just looked a little more and it seems the ti has it beat at my gaming resolution which is 1920x1080 so ill go with my original thought. Cant wait to buy

If it was my money, I wouldn't choose the 780ti when you can get the same stock performance with a GTX780 / 290. Add a modest overclock, and you have 780ti performance for considerably less. Just my two cents. :)

I'd agree. Unless you must have the latest or you bench, I wouldn't buy a 780ti. 780 is much better value. 290 even more so but exercise caution when buying reference cards.

Unless you have eyes like superman you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference in performance when gaming between 780 and Ti.

Thanks for all the replys guys

I realise it only has a slight advantage but say in a years time that advantage could be the difference between upgrading and not.

I also understand that the ti can overclock a amazing amount??? so surely I could overclock it and surpass any overclock the 780 could do??

another vote for the gtx 780. amd are having quite a few issues at the mo and the ti is a waste of money as you can overclock the 780 to match it, plus at 1080p there isnt really any point spending the extra dollar
