Just plug them into your board in xp set up chose the one you want for you main xp disc leave the other,boot into windows go to computer manager find disk managment format the other hardisk done.

When you install an app put it on disk c main disk when you install a game select the other disk on install.

The second drive will simply appear as another drive in my computer. So you could make a shortcut on the desktop to get to it, or simply get to it from my computer.

sorry again too sound a little simple..but..

do i set my 2nd drive as primary and...when r/clicked do i "mark partition as active"...

many thanks all

The easiest way to do it is;

Put the drive you windows on in. Leave the other one unplugged. Go through the windows install. Once windows is installed, switch off the computer and plug the other drive in. Reboot and go into Disk management, partition and format the second drive. This should ensure that windows ends up on the C: drive.
