Hi,

I have 2 separate laptops,Both run Linux mint (latest version)

Now last night my main laptop refused to boot.
This morning my other laptop also refused to boot.

Both saying the same thing -

Busybox v1.22.1 (ubuntu 1:1.22.0-|5ubuntu1)
built - in shell (ash) enter "help" for a list of built in commands.
(initramfs) -

Then does nothing but sit on this black screen,I dont know a thing about linux other than how to install it,Wierd how both laptops went down..did an update do this?

Generally i'd say its a hard disk problem, but given this has happened on two seperate machines ... i dont know how you handle them, do you use them for dropgoal practice? :)

You're going to need to run a filesystem check on the main disk - /dev/sda1, more than likely. To do this you'll need a live CD (or a bootable ISO) you can boot the laptop from.

Then run: 'fsck -fy /dev/sda1' and see what it says.

I could never get it to work,im not good with linux but ive found out the SSD is just faulty but smart was saying its fine.

it had to be faulty because ever since i made this thread its been using a standard 5400rpm hard drive with no issues at all.
thanks anyway for your help!
