1. 90% of the time Internet Explorer only opens in a window -usually a full sized window but still not maximised. It's no big deal by any means but it still bugs me. Is there a simple way to force all IE windows to open maximised?

2. Is there a way to force XP to remember each folder's view settings? eg. Tiles, Thumbnails, List etc. In Folder Options I've made sure the box is ticked where it says "Remember each folder's view settings" but windows XP obviously can't be arsed with this as I have to keep changing the settings all the time. This can be very irritating sometimes.

Start ~> Run... ~> iexplore.exe then maximise and close always worked for me. You could also right click your shortcut to your Internet Explorer and select the "Run: Maximised" option.

Can't help you with this one, to be honest. All my folders stay how I last set them.
