Hiya,
I have an i7 rig with a first gen board, so only sata2 for me, but after buying and fitting a 128 gb vertex 2e to my wife's ageing pc, i now want 128 gb SSD goodness!
My question is this:
is the step change from a mechanical hardrive to a vertex 2e for approx £170 as noticeable as the step change from a mechanical hardrive to the vertex 3 (or latest intel ssds etc?)
Granted i would have to buy a sata 3 adaptor with this 3rd (?) generation stuff now appearing, Failing that a revodrive!
the extra 80quid+ on the latest iteration of drives (inclu adaptor) seems an awful lot to pay for what, to my eyes, seems to be not exactly game changing numbers.
Better served buying the slightly older tech, and waiting for a year or so for the new stuff to drop in price to match the gb\£ ratio we're currently seeing?
best
