Which way is it best to mount the artic cooler 7 pro? with it facing down up left or right?

Is the thermal paste pre applied on the artic cooler 7 pro good? or should i use my own artic silver 5 thermal compound?

it depends on airflow in your case, where is the nearest exhaust fan?
ideally you want air to be pushed by the cooler fan> through the cooler> pulled by an exhaust fan out of the case.

I'd go with the pre-applied myself, it's easier, and there won't be masses of difference.

My case is **** the fan wont be direct to an exhaust that i know of the side panel will be off apart from that the side were the pci ports are is the most open part of my rubbish case.

careful with the sweary there, I'd edit it out if I were you, unless you'd like a holiday :p

Without a pic of your case I can't really tell you, but it's easy to work out which will be the most efficient flow.

If you post a pic I can have a look and tell you what I think would be best.

The system I got from OcUK with an AC7 in had the fan facing the drivebays blowing air through it towards the exhaust.

Maybe they know best :D

BTW the MX-2 on the AC7 pro is supposed to be even better than AC5, so you could leave it.
