Hi guys, i have a Dell 2407 and an old 17 crt and a HIS ATI x1900XT G card.

ive got the latest drives for everything.

When i play a game in windowed mode the game goes down to like 1 fps from 50 when i have the mouse on the main screen, but if i put the mouse on the other screen the fps goes back up. its fine if im not in windowed mode, but that means i cant use the other screen...

I only wanted the other screen to watch films, or for Vent and surfing etc.

Is there anyway i can sort this out?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to use the other screen for like Vent etc and be able to move the mouse on it aswell as playing a game at the same time, if you got a wireless mouse, couldnt you plug an old mouse in the PS/2 port at the back, and leave that mouse cursor on the second screen?

Erm... what?

If you plug 2 mice in you don't get a second cursor LOL!

Alrite, no need for the LOL...

I have never plugged in another mouse before so I wouldnt know, hence I put "couldnt you plug in an old mouse" and I also put a "?" at the end.

start the movie on the second monitor then start the game? i dont think you can surf and play as you have to move focus from the game.

No, for example if im playing wow, i can put it in windowed mode and move the cursor over both screens (the game is only on 1 screen). But, if the mouse is on the main screen, the game is unplayable, however if i move the mouse onto the other screen (with nothing or say an IE window on) then the game runs fine. i dont even have to alt tab or anything its just moving the mouse.

because what if i want to pause or stop the film i cant, or if im on vent how can i switch channels, and if i need to look something up on thotbott or something for wow i cant....

It does work, i jsut dont understand why my fps drops to 1 when i have my mouse on the main screen.

ok sorry my bad. ok well for the movies you can setup hotkeys in certain programs.

what is your pcs spec? as it may be struggling to render the game and the desktop at the same time.

The specs ok i think

its an AMD X2 3800+
1 gig of Geil Golden Dragon
ATI X1900XT
2 Raptors in Raid

and as i say the game runs fine if i have the cursor on the left screen, its when i move it to the main screen the FPS drops.
