Currently have a dell u2414h monitor and was looking at either getting another one the same or selling it and getting a 27" with higher resoloution

Whats best any opinions?

What is your usage? Gaming, or productivity?

From a personal standpoint I went from three monitors, to two slightly larger, to one slightly larger - and I don't think I am ever going back to a multiple monitor setup. I love the ease and cleanliness of only having one monitor, and for gaming it's nice not having bezels. And as I only really game losing a bit of pixels for the better looking single monitor was a great trade-off in my opinion.

+1

Very hard to beat a nice slick clean single monitor setup. I have had a dual setup before and it just makes things look so much more cluttered.

You could probably pick up a second hand ROG Swift for the £350 mark on the MM, or so I'm lead to believe... And that's pretty much the highest end of gaming monitors at the moment. It is TN but it's not a bad TN panel.

Do you game a fair amount, if so, what GPU do you have?

If you aren't really interested in adaptive sync technologies or high refresh rates, spending the little extra on this for Dell's great customer service wouldn't be a bad choice:

For windows etc. 2 would be good, for anything else 1 larger one would be better.

The Dell U2515H is worth a look, it's 25" and 1440p so lovely and sharp but a fair bit cheaper than the 27".

I'm currently using one along side a 24" Dell in portrait and it's great for Lightroom work and browsing. Browsing OcUK in portrait is great, so much space is wasted on landscape. Eventually I'll swap the 24" out for another U2515H.
