2 stroke query & leaf blower advice

You’re going to have to show your working on that assumption.

My Stihl leaf blower runs for around 30 minutes on 500ml of MotoMix (95 RON Unleaded + additives + 2 stroke oil) and the internet tells me the median fuel economy for US pickup trucks is 20.6 miles per US gallon.

4,000 miles at 20.6 US mpg would use 194.17 US gallons of petrol. That’s 735 litres.

So you’re telling me that 500ml worth of 2 stroke emissions is worse than 735 litres worth of 4 stroke truck emissions?
It was an article in the new York times, i don't find it that hard to believe as 2 stoke engines are notorious for poor emissions, there's a good reason you've not been able to buy 2 stroke motorbikes for ages.

In a car, or truck in that case it's got a very complex emission system of catalytic converts with fuel injection, oxygen sensors etc to really carefully control the fuel burn and any emissions where as your Stihl or any 2 stroke engine has pretty much nothing and burns in a far far less efficient way at least where emissions are concerned.

I can’t understand how two stroke garden tools are still allowed our government and it pretence at being green is so ridiculous!

Council's innit guv! The cost of replacing all the council ground workers tools with battery type would be a small fortune and they just don't last long enough yet.

That’s different to them being sold for domestic use and 4 stroke versions of pretty much all these tools are available and significantly less polluting. I’m not even sure there are any rules around emissions from garden machinery which is an easy win surely!
