Looking for a HDMI switcher for the tv as I have upgraded to Virgin HD. My TV only has one HDMI port and I require at least two for my PS3 and virgin HD.

"Automatically switches to the active HDMI signal*"

i dont think this will work as the virgin HD box will always be active, seeing as you dont turn it off...

maybe get one with a remote or a switch? or get an AV amp & speakers that can do it for you :)

Very good point thank you, I shall have to reconsider!

I got a cheap supermarket one when I got a blue ray player, works fine. My Virgin box is on 24/7, but it auto switches when I power on my Blue-ray player, and back again when I power it off. It wasn't that design, just a 2in x 2in box with an connector on 3 sides (passive).

In fact, this looks suspiciously similar

Problem with those type of switchers are that I would need to buy an additional HDMI lead to hook it all up which id rather avoid if possible (tight a***e), hence the other two suggestions.

I got a unpowered 3 way switch off another site (Duronic branded) and it's not very good. I have to use two powered repeaters (one near output and one before the switch) just to get the signal from my PC to reach the TV. If I try without the powered repeater I get zero signal. I do have a long run (15m) after the switch though. Was just £10.

I was contemplating getting a powered amplified switch to take its place and possibly one with remote control. I see the Akasa has power but it's unclear whether the unit is amplified.

I think my supermarket own brand one is a re-badged Duronic, works fine for me, but I'm only using 3m HDMI cables.
