2 x 290 Tri-X OC Lack Performance!

Do those three frame pacing methods still make a difference?

Its been fixed so it uses the frame pacing method which gives the fastest performance with great consistency. Previously it used the slowest frame pacing that chopped off 50% of the fps but it was ridiculously consistent. The thing with Mantle is, it does not appear to need any frame pacing as i can't tell the difference with it on or off. They both feel great. However disabling does net you a few extra fps. (3-5)

Not sure lol whatever u would recomend.

Something isn't correct for sure..
As i just tried 150 with single card, and runs smoother then with 2 cards..
I'm lost now lol :D

Well i only really use a User.Cfg these days to show the performance overlays and a fps counter. I suppose i also limit fps to 59 (whilst using vsync) to reduce mouse lag. Tweaking anything else via this Cfg is pointless now. Though i suppose you could alter the frame pacing method. Do you mind using vsync?

frame pacing method? what doe's this do?

I like to see how things are performing with the Cfg then plz mate.

I use 144hz, you limit the fps to that maybe ? in the cfg.
Are you using just 1440p with 100 scale res?

What would you like the limit at? Ideally it will be at your average fps. You don't want to be dropping below the limit too often.

With 2 x 290's what would you say 80? 79? being a minium?

Are you running any scale? or just 1440p ?

You at 1080P? I would've thought 144hz should be possible in you're running Mantle with your cpu/gpu overclocked. Just run 1080P, Ultra X4MSAA and leave res scaling at 0% for now. Place this in your BF4 folder and away you go.

Yes mate 1080p @144hz..

Ok thanks mat i give it a try :)

You using 0%scale with 1440p ?

BTW Do you have a profile in the CCC settings? If so what are they?

Cheers matt

I'm at 1440P. Typically i don't use res scaling, but i could if i wanted. I have grunt (that's what she said) to spare. Now i have a third 290 coming i might start using resolution scaling more freely. Currently I use Vsync and cap fps at 59, one below 60 to reduce mouse lag.

Don't worry about CCC image quality settings, currently they only apply to D3D applications.

Lol about what she said :D

this correct what u sent me ?

PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 1
PerfOverlay.Enable 1
Render.DrawScreenInfo 1
GameTimeMaxVariableFps 5144
RenderDevice.FramePacingMethod 0
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0

GameTimeMaxVariableFps 5144 ? did u mean 144 :) shall i make it 143 with the vsync on ? don't you lose performance caping you're to 59 with 2 cards? wow 3 will be nuts ;)

Injoy.

Haha typo, oops. However you also said Injoy. :p

Yeah change that to 144hz if you play with vsync off, or 143hz with vsync on. If you do play with vsync on, delete this line RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0. I included that as i thought you didn't use vsync.

Update punkbuster too, google pbsetup.

Thanks for that Matt, helps out.. i found my main problem was radon pro software, causing so many problems, deleted it, and bobs you're uncle ;)

Do you think i get away with adding Supersampling via control centre?
As like you said before, scale give some kind of lag feel for me.. when on 100, very smooth thanks :) oh btw, why do you have Disable ULPS ? and if needed, can this be disabled another way instead of using msi afterburner?
and why would i need RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0 if using no Vsync?
Thanks.

Yeah i don't use RP much these days.

Supersampling does not work via CCC under Mantle, but in BF4 you don't need it as you can just use resolution scaling which is basically the same thing.

Triple buffering is enabled by default it seems, even with vsync off.

What is the function of triple buffering? I hear about it but I never understand what it is..
