Hi,

Looking for advice on a reasonable spec pc to run basic web browsing, ms office, occasional games (nothing too intensive) but more importantly a quiet pc that can run 2 x 4k monitors on a high resolution.

Any help is much appreciated.

You were doing well until you mentioned gaming, lol. You need a top end PC to run games at 4k. I have to ask the question, why 4K monitors?

Hi

Thanks for the super quick reply.

I definitely don't need gaming at 4k, i'd go as far as to say i don't really need gaming at all. I just assume that a 'gaming' pc is usually about as quick as they come.

I like to have several tasks open at the same time, i.e. reading emails etc on left screen and a couple of spreadsheets onpen on the right screen, i have 2 x 27" monitors just now, and assume you can get more on each if they were 4k?

I'd go for:

CPU: Ryzen 3 3100 (£90ish)
Motherboard: B450 motherboard such as the B450M AsRock Pro4, or B550 (if you want extra upgrade options) such as the MSI B550M PRO-VDH WiFi
RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM (really good price here on OCUK - Team Group is the brand) (£55)
Storage: 1TB SSD (brand doesn't really matter)
Video Card: RX 570 8GB - any model as long as it has at least 2 fans. (£125)
Power Supply: Corsair CV550 (£40)
WiFi adapter - AC1200 (£20) - Not needed if you went for the B550 PRO-VDH WiFi Motherboard
Windows 10 Pro (£15)
Case: Thermaltake S100 (£41)
Case fans: A 2 or 3 pack of fans, 120mm. beQuiet fans are generally decent (£15 or less)
Fan hub: PWM fan hub (£4-8)

Total: Under £550

Hope that helps!
