So i quit college last year 4 months into course and have decided to start up again this September, i could stay there for up to 3 years studying but by the time i leave i would be 20. Would this be to old to go uni? Would i have to go to an open uni or could i still go to a usual one.

Oh and would i be allowed to stay in the halls of residence?

Cheers guys.

No way, I know loads of people who are 20+ and they get on just as well with people as 18 year olds. A lot of people take a gap year so are 19+ when starting anyway.

there was a guy in my year who was 65, i dont really think you can go any where near the "old" word yet!

i started at 20 and had a lot of growing up to do, just get on with it really!

Hell no, im 22 - just graduated and really could do with a few more years partying :p

My (now) ex girlfriend is starting uni in September, after taking a couple of years out. She's 20, it'll suit her down to the ground. She's going into halls, too.

No, there's no 'too old' but for some reason there's a stigma around people if you don't go to University as soon as you're able to.

there are loads of people are don't start till they are 19/20, either due to taking years out of doing extra courses at colllege etc

Not a chance. As mentioned above, there's normally some of the older generation there. We had a 50 year old gal and a few blokes in their 40's when I was there, so I say go for it and enjoy it. :)

Started uni myself at 21 ,not too old just might find yourself getting a bit immature living with 18/19 year olds as i have, lol.

Went to uni at 18, studied degree & master, still working in crappy job at 28.... so thinking of going back.....

A bit off topic: what would be a good field to study these days? want to do something really niche.. :)
