hi, im looking for a 20" widescreen with HDCP. it needs to be under about £350, as im looking to get 2 of them.
Ive noticed the Samsung SM-215TW, but this is a bit to expensive, but looks very good and comes with HDCP. and its 21"'s too.
Ive looked at the Dell 2007WFP, but think im not going to get that due to 16ms, banding and lots of other problems related to the dell monitors.

so are there any other monitors out there im missing? or any coming out soon,
needs to be HDCP, thats where the problem is, as im not wasting my money on TFT screens i will need to replace when i get vista and want to play HD-DVDs.
The NEC 20.1" monitor looks good, but for some reason only the american version is HDCP how sly is that?!

Thanks.

With the later revisions of the 2007WFP banding is not a issue. I play a lot of FPS games and watch lots of movies on my Dell 2007WFP's and they are perfectly fine! Europe is very slow to getting HDCP, america has had it for quite a while on their monitors!

You could look at the LG 20" LCD L204WT TCO-99 Black/Silver 1680x1050, 5ms, 2000:1, DVI/VGA.

Ocuk don't sell it though. I picked one up for £215 the other day and it is a great monitor and it is hdcp certified.

I recommended a friend to buy this last night, but couldn't see the HDCP support in any spec sheet. He isn't bothered by it anyway. Can you link me to a spec sheet?

Also, are you impressed by it.

Does HDCP (or more specifically non HDCP) actually affect the signal from a PC. Is it necessary if you are only using your monitor for PC use or is it if you want to connect a Blue ray player to it?

I can't find a link to the spec sheet at present.

I am impressed with it so far. I plan to do a little review as i think a lot of people will be interested in it.

The Samsung 205BW supports HDCP, my dad has the lower model the 940BW and it's a very good screen for the money/spec.

If the newer revision 2007WFP screens do NOT have the banding issue I will buy one over the NEC 20" but can anyone confirm this ?

i've looked at the LG one already, it has a TN panel, which ive already got with my samsung 913N 19" tft. its a good screen, but the viewing angles are a little restricted, and the colour could be better.
The dell looks like the best option, but if i buy 2 of them at the same time and they both have banding then id be annoyed. they are the nicest looking monitors out there.
So theres no other monitors coming out soon in the 20" widescreen market that have HDCP? ive seen the new 24" benq widescreen model thats coming out, and that looks nice, but i would only beable to afford one of them, and im looking for a dual setup.

Thanks.
